Like many other ex-social media users I'm trying my best to unplug from sites owned by billionaires. Honestly, ever since the Tumblr porn ban I've been wary of uploading my raunchy work anywhere, besides Discord servers with my close friends. Even that is risky, with their (currently muddy) implementation of global age verification. I never held Discord sacred, but I was still pissed off. I knew it was coming, too. As soon as a site gets big enough to become universally used (the assumed 'default' option), there are ads, age checks, porn bans, and now - AI integration. I don't care if Discord themselves states they don't 'read our messages', I will never put my trust in a tech company.

For a while now I've tried to find a way to post my adult work (I worked hard on it, I want to show it off!) without minors or people I work with IRL to see it. I tried for a hot minute to have a separate Instagram account for my sketches but there was still an ick left in my mouth whenever I posted. Plus the risk of IRL accounts finding it was very possible. Privating the account was an option, but then I would once again be locking up my art (and still uploading to IG - Lose lose situation). I want it to be freely visible but inaccessible to the wrong people.

I *could* upload to Neocities, but lo and behold, random accounts started getting +18 shadowbanned for... reasons? We still don't know why this is happening and if there is a way to reverse this. The neocities +18 site search isn't accessible from the main page, (you must use this link instead: https://neocities.org/browse?is_nsfw=true) and +18 sites can't be found in search results. As much as I love Neocities, I am once again forced to fear posting my titty art. Atomicgothic.com (my main site) has a fair amount of nudity and adult situations, which I do not want to bother censoring, but with the creation of my subdomain OFF of Neocities, I can now show all the boobs I want! I think this is the best way for me to keep my artistic liberties while connecting to my main site and having everything freely accessible with a quick search. I don't have to bow down to Neocities, Instagram, or any other TOS that can change at a moments notice.

I am also collecting emails for a newsletter (in progress) that will have new art, zines, freebies, and fun stuffs. If all else fails, I will just end up emailing my artwork out to people. And if THAT doesn't work, you guys are gonna get physical postcards in the mail!!!!
